Class

Arcadia categorizes nouns into five grammatical classes, determined by their word-ending pattern. While noun class does not alter meaning, it follows a consistent and predictable structure.

The Five Classes

  • Solid (-i) → Typically associated with structured or stable entities.
  • Liquid (-e) → Often linked to fluid, adaptable forms.
  • Gas (-a) → Represents dispersed or ephemeral substances.
  • Plasma (-o) → Used for dynamic, high-energy concepts.
  • Exotic (-u) → Covers abstract or undefined entities.

These classes serve a purely grammatical function, but Arcadia's vocabulary tends to naturally align with them. For instance, land animals are typically solid, while water animals tend to be liquid—reflecting their environmental association.
